A very long time ago, i saw this amazing blanket on Etsy. It’s a blanket from http://www.etsy.com/shop/BabyLoveBrandKids . She has some amazing crochet work for sale in her shop.
Anyway, I couldn’t get this picture out of my mind and about a week ago I decided this was the right time to start my own hexagon blanket!
I didn’t have a pattern, so I made it up myself.
And then.., I started crocheting hexagons…
At this point there were only a few,
but I got the hang of it and started making a lot more…
I laid them down, but there was something about the colors that didn’t feel right…
After I took a long look at it and asking others for their opinion, I knew what was missing: the midtones and the lighter colors!
There was only one problem… I already had all the colors that the yarn store had from this yarn…
But two days ago, I was out with my dad and we passed an other yarn store. Of course I had to go in and see if there was any yarn that I could use in my blankie. And guess what.. There was!! 🙂 There were so many very beautiful colors and I had a hard time choosing! Than my father said he would buy me some, so I could have more! 🙂
These are the colors I took home. Don’t you love them?! It’s a very, very soft 100% acrylic yarn from Katia.
And then I started crocheting more hexagons with my new colors and look how it turned out:
You see how these lighter colors make it all one piece?!
I left out the gray and brown tones, because I felt like they were just a little too much.
I am super excited about how it looks! I already started sewing them together and I really can’t wait to get it finished and show it to you!
So, that’s it for today. I’m going back to my blankie 🙂
Have a very nice day! xx
